Landscape Design
How should I prepare of our Discovery Meeting?
Gathering any photos that inspire you is a great way to communicate your taste to the designer. Have the house plat available, this provides us with critical information about your property. Prepare a budget. It can feel awkward to share your budget at the beginning but this allows our designers to create a plan that meets your needs.
How long will the design process take?
This process will vary according to the size of your project and time of year. Your designer will give you a timeline at your consultation.
What do you charge for landscape design plans?
Although it may be possible to find companies that offer free landscape designs, in our experience, such plans are not an equivalent product. Our designers create accurate buildable drawings that account for special site conditions, HOA and county restrictions, etc. Our goal is to discover and solve issues in the planning phase to minimize unpleasant surprises and costs during construction. We follow the PPP philosophy: Planning prevents problems.
I already have a design, can you implement it?
Absolutely, it is our privilege to work and install for some of the most creative and influential landscape architects in the Washington, D.C., area. We are always happy to be a collaborative team member.

Yes, we are a licensed Class A builder and can implement every aspect of your project and maintain it for years to come.
I am building a new home, how soon should I start the landscape design process?
Now! It’s never too early to integrate your outdoor living areas with your interiors, the earlier in the process you start the better. We work for some of the finest home builders and architects in Northern Virginia and love collaboration!

Swimming Pool
Can I afford a pool?
At our initial meeting we will discuss the pool size and features that best fit your lifestyle. This will allow us to give you a preliminary quote. A final quote will be done once the design has been finalized.
Will we be required to install a fence?
Depending where you are located a fence may not be needed as long as you install an approved automatic pool cover and comply with all other county requirements.
What's the best location for my swimming pool?
While some clients like the pool as a focal point when looking from the house, others prefer a different type of view. Our designers will help locate the best possible location for your pool based on your requirements and lifestyle.
Will I need HOA approval?
Yes, and we do the legwork for you. Grow Landscapes will fill out and submit all needed applications
